Who We Are

Student Eligibility Criteria

The mission of the Right Angle Educational Foundation is to provide funding for summer college enrichment programs that increase access to higher education for low-income high school students in Chicago's West Town community. Realizing it has to work within a target area to best utilize its current resources, the Right Angle has determined the following as criteria students need to meet in order to apply for funding to attend a Summer of a Lifetime program:

1.) Students must live or attend school in the West Town community.
2.) First priority is given to sophomores and second priority is given to juniors.
3.) Students must be accepted into their chosen university's or college's summer college enrichment program.

West Town encompasses the neighborhoods of:
  • Wicker Park
  • Bucktown
  • Ukrainian Village
  • East Village
  • Noble Square
  • Humboldt Park
West Town's boundaries are roughly:
  • To the North: Division Street (1200N)
  • To the South: Kinzie Street (400N)
  • To the East: the Kennedy Expressway (runs diagonally north to south ranging from 1300W to 800W)
  • To the West: California Avenue (2800W)
The high schools in the West Town community are:
  • Roberto Clemente Community Academy High School
  • Golder College Prep*
  • Holy Trinity High School
  • Noble St. College Prep
  • Pritzker College Prep*
  • Rauner College Prep*
  • Rowe-Clark Math & Science Academy*
  • William H. Wells Community Academy High School
*Campus of Noble St. College Prep and, therefore, eligible to apply.
